International Alumni Meeting 2024 in Nice

On 20-22 September, we spent a fantastic weekend celebrating in Nice with our Alumni in what is our 70th anniversary year! Over 130 former students gathered in Nice, where things kicked off on Friday evening with a retrospective of CIFE since 1954 and a welcoming aperitif.

On Saturday, the International Day of Peace, we took a trip to Vallauris to visit the Musée national Picasso, home to the incredible War and Peace artwork in the chapel. Lunch was then in the form of a delicious Provençal style picnic in the beautiful surroundings of the Parc de Vaugrenier.

In the evening, we then discussed peace and multilateralism during a round table with 4 Alumni Luise Druke, Tanya Lyubimova, Hartmut Marhold, George Tzogopoulos, moderated by Tobias Bütow, Secretary General of OFAJ/DFJW.

The weekend was rounded off with a convivial dinner on the rooftop of the Hotel Aston La Scala, offering an amazing view across the Old Town and the Mediterranean Sea.

A huge thanks to everyone who travelled to join us. Many coming from far away: Canada, the US, Ukraine, Turkey, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Germany... We were delighted to be able to welcome Alumni from as long ago as 1969/70 and as recent as 2023/24. Long live the CIFE family! We look forward to seeing you again in 2025, location to be announced soon!
