Welcome to Nice: Start of the New Year for the 2023/24 EUGOV and Med Programmes
We’re delighted to be able to welcome our 31 new students of the MAEIS Applied European Policy and Governance Studies (EUGOV) and MAEIS Mediterranean Studies programmes from 20 different countries!
On Wednesday, the programme began officially in the presence of all CIFE staff members in Nice, including EUGOV Programme Director Susann Heinecke-Kuhn and Mediterranean Programme Director Jean-Claude Vérez. Our Director General Matthias Waechter gave an insight into the history of CIFE as we head into our 70th anniversary year in 2024 during his introductory speech.
Classes then began in earnest on Thursday with a course on Theories of International Relations in the 20th and 21st Centuries with Susann Heinecke-Kuhn, followed by Research Colloquia with the respective Programme Directors.
The EUGOV students then enjoyed a meal out together on Thursday evening, while the Mediterranean students will do the same on Saturday evening.
On Friday, both groups headed out together on a guided tour of Nice to discover more about the new city they will call home for the next three months.
We look forward to getting to know them more and wish them all the best for the new academic year!
