On Monday 9 October 2023, the students of our two Joint Master programmes, the Joint Master in Global Economic Governance and Public Affairs (GEGPA) and the Joint Master in EU Trade and Climate Diplomacy (EUDIPLO), began the new academic year with our partner university Luiss School of Government in Rome.
Both programmes will spend the first trimester in Rome with Luiss School of Government, before heading to Berlin in February and Nice in April with CIFE. The EUDIPLO students will also take part in a study trip to Brussels in March 2024.
The GEGPA Master is focused on how to assess, manage and enhance private and public institutions’ governance with a wide range of economic and digital intelligence tools. In Rome, courses will give an introduction to Global Governance, focusing on the context and challenges of economic governance and policy in the 21st century. Then in Berlin, teaching will concentrate on new forms of transnational and interregional governance as a way forward towards Sustainable Development in the context of major climate and demographic changes. Finally, in Nice, a special focus will be laid on Policy Intelligence, inciting participants to investigate how far the digital society enables transforming economic data into policy knowledge.
Meanwhile, the EUDIPLO Master focuses on how to act, reflect and participate in strategic trade and climate policy negotiations between Europe and other geopolitical powers, with a wide range of economic and digital intelligence tools. The programme starts in Rome, where courses will give an introduction to the EU Governance, focusing on the context and challenges of European Foreign Action and policy in the 21st century. In Berlin, teaching will concentrate on EU Climate Diplomacy and the EU's ambition to be climate leaders in the context of the EU Green Deal. Courses conclude in Nice, where a special focus will be laid on EU Trade & Investment Diplomacy.
