We’re pleased to announce that CIFE is taking part in the SEBR (Smart Energy Building Renovation) consortium, selected by the Horizon2020 project procuRE.
Our common goal is to transform old buildings into energy-wise efficient buildings with state-of-the-art technology and achieve 100% renewable energy supply (RES) in existing building stock.
Whilst our consortium partners will be deploying a technology package to develop green building, CIFE will be in charge of education and training activities to promote energy usages adapted to green buildings, thus contributing to a successful energy transition.
Did you know? Buildings are responsible for 40% of the energy demand and 36% of the CO2 emissions in Europe. It is expected that 90% of the currently existing building stock will still be in service in 2050, the year set for Europe to reach the energy reduction target of 80% compared to 2005.
To achieve our climate goals, renovation in Europe must be accelerated, lifting many more existing buildings to an optimal efficiency level as well as maximising the deployment of self-consumed Renewable Energy Supply.
The timely focus of procuRE is on cost-effective delivery of on-site RES solutions to existing public buildings.
We look forward to working with our consortium partners DEFCON8, Lancey Energy Storage, ITeC - Institut de Tecnologia de la Construcció, Mondas GmbH and Three O'Clock.
