Field Trips in the South of France for the Energy Master
At the end of April, our Master in Global Energy Transition and Governance students carried out their final field trips of the year in three locations in the South of France: at the Energy Transition Department of the Monaco Government and a meeting with SBM Offshore in Monaco, Airbus Helicopters in Marignane and Tricastin nuclear power plant.
The students were hosted by major players of the energy sector: the industrial sector having to implement decarbonisation strategies within a short deadline and and the production side of the energy sector facing key issues to invest in low carbon energy sources. Questions were raised on the articulation between the markets, and the regulations at national and European levels in order to reach the low carbon economy objectives at the heart of the EU energy and climate policy. These visits provided much food for thought and fueled many more discussions after the visits.
