Study Trip to Brussels for the Energy Master Students

During an intensive week from 31 March to 4 April, our Master in Global Energy Transition and Governance students completed a packed programme of meetings and debates in Brussels.

They had the opportunity to meet representatives at DG CLIMA, DG GROW and DG ENER at the European Commission, in addition to a visit to the Press Room. At the European Parliament, they also got to visit the hemicycle, where Brussels plenary sessions take place.

The students were also lucky enough to meet representatives of associations from Hydrogen Europe, SolarPower Europe and REScoop.eu, who covered the role of hydrogen, solar energy and the developments of energy communities.

With representatives from ENGIE, Vattenfall, Umicore and Eurelectric, the students were also able to learn about the views of the private sector on the EU’s energy policy and how they adjust to the climate policy ambitions.

Finally, the students were able to visit the Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the European Union and debate about the role of a representation in climate and energy negotiations.

We thank all speakers for their insightful contributions, their time and for sharing their precious knowledge with the next generation of EU Energy Policymakers!
