Cultural Grand Tour of Europe: Part 1 in Italy

Our Joint Master in European Cultural Governance (EUCULTURE) students continued their immersive journey with three visits in Italy in January.

First they travelled to the enchanting hilltop village of Civita di Bagnoregio, known as the dying city. The students learnt about the initiatives to preserve 2,500 years of cultural heritage from natural dangers such as erosion and landslides.

At the Caribinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in Rome, the students gained invaluable insights into the mission to recover stolen art, prevent illegal excavations and combat art forgery.

Finally at the Bulgari Hotel Group, the students discovered how every detail of the design and materials used to renovate the building contribute to Bulgari’s commitment to Italy’s cultural heritage.

The Joint Master in European Cultural Governance is organised in collaboration with Luiss School of Government. Thank you to them for organising these visits.
