By 03 October 2015 Turkey is fulfilling its 10th year as official EU candidate. However, there is little debate from the EU side about the future perspectives of a Turkish membership, and currently other urgent topics are dominating the EU agenda, varying from the Greek economic crisis to Brexit, the refugee crisis to the Ukraine.On the other side, Turkey’s perspectives are also characterised by a political and economic crisis. |

The first of many occasions to meet and talk during this weekend: The festive opening of CIFE’s Master’s programme in Istanbul and welcoming dinner for the first arrivals of Alumni. The dinner takes place at Mama’s Shelter Istanbul restaurant, representative of CIFE’s international culture with its mix of French-Turkish kitchen in a young spirit.

Bilgi University Santral Campus offers a variety of places for mini-reunions, such as cafés, restaurants and chill out areas all around the campus. The Energy Museum room will also be reserved for us during the whole day. |

CONFERENCE “Refugee Crisis and the EU” |

One of the most urgent and important issues on the European agenda is the Refugee Crisis, and Turkey offers a good platform for this discussion, hosting more than 2 million Syrian refugees since the beginning of the war.
The debate will be followed by a Q&A session.
