Study Trip to Brussels - MAEIS European Integration and Global Studies

For the first time in 3 years due to the global pandemic, our students of the MAEIS European Integration and Global Studies were able to travel to Brussels for the annual study trip.

This year we invited speakers, many of them CIFE alumni, from various European institutions, including the European Commission, the European External Action Service (EEAS), the European Council and the European Parliament, to speak to the students about their work and the current challenges facing the EU.

One of the highlights of the week was a networking dinner in the heart of the European capital with a record number of CIFE alumni in attendance. It was great to be able to meet up again in person after several years away!

Beyond Women's Day

As part of the study trip, several students from CIFE and the University of Maastricht co-organised a discussion with women working in the Brussels bubble.

The first round table consisted of recent graduates of CIFE and Maastricht discussing their experiences as women starting out in the European capital. This was then followed by two inspiring speeches from female leaders with significant experience working in Brussels.

Finally, students watched the documentary film "Notes from Brussels" by Nadine Van Loon about three women and their pursuit of the European dream.
